Principal's Welcome!

Welcome to the Turbotville Elementary School web page!  We appreciate your interest in our school, and hope you will join us in our Caring Community!

As we enter the 2009-2010 school year, we are excited about our school, the community within which we reside and live, and especially about the wonderful children and families with whom it is our pleasure to work.  Our focus is on one thing, and that is our children!  We delight in every day that we can come to school, to see the smiling faces of our students, and work, play, grow and live together.  What a delightful place to be!!

While our caring for children is our primary goal, it directly supports our close second focus: creating strong, productive life-long learners.  Our academic emphases are the continuing improvement of reading, mathematics, and writing.  We are proud of the fact that, since the 2003-2004 school year, our third and fourth graders have made Adequate Yearly Progress in Reading, Mathematics, and - most recently - Science.  Every year our goals increase, and we need parental assistance in meeting these goals.  Parents and caregivers can facilitate high achievement by encouraging daily reading times, going over homework every evening with your children, and communicating the tremendous importance of education.
