2017-2018 Classroom Innovation Grant Recipients Announced

Learning through "Osmo"sis:  An Osmo is a set of interactive apps and manipulative tools used to differentiate the learning for students via the iPad. The Osmos will be utilized at collaborative and/or independent station rotations in my hybrid classroom. Students will create individual accounts which will allow for remediation and enrichment in math fact fluency and language arts exposure while students work at their own pace. The Osmos also provide opportunities for students to explore their creativity and/or learn the basics of coding.

3D Printing - Three (3) 3D printers will be added to the Middle School MakerSpace for the 2017-2018 school year.  Over the summer, the MakerSpace will undergo a transformation and move to the middle school computer lab.  There, individuals, groups of students, and classes will have the ability to engage in a variety of activities focused on extending students' creativity and design skills.  The addition of the 3D printers will allow students to produce their 3D designs.

Library Lounge - The 2017-18 Classroom Innovation Grant is giving the high school library is an opportunity to support student and their learning by adding a Library Lounge.  The grant provides the funding to purchase four comfortable chairs with tablet arms for student work and devices. The library will be rearranged to accommodate the new and existing lounge areas so as to provide flexible spaces for flexible learning.
